Dr. Jamila Flowers

I am an Oregon native and proud alumnus of the University of Oregon – Go Ducks! While the proud daughter of a Chiropractic pioneer, my path into the profession was not linear. But, as my life continued to evolve and my purpose became clearer, I knew that I was called to serve the community as a chiropractor.

I moved to Atlanta to attend Life University, where I earned a Doctorate in Chiropractic. I launched Thryve Wellness Group with the goal of providing care that is compassionate and informed by science, curating an innovative health experience for our patients to reach their goals.

For many who take the step towards lasting change, the most difficult step is often the first. I believe it is my responsibility to welcome you where you are and help guide you towards the infinite possibilities that can result from simply understanding your body more. I am endlessly inspired by the transformative change that a complete mind-body approach to wellness provides. As you strive to live your best and most purposeful life, my goal is to help you discover your “Y.”

Dr. Steven Bernal

I was born in Miami, raised in South Georgia, and now happily call Atlanta my home. Growing up in a small town, I saw most people handle their ailments in the same way – looking for the quick and easy fix of medication and clinging to the idea that prescriptions alone would solve the problem. As an undergraduate college student, I worked in a pharmacy and saw others in this same seemingly endless, unsustainable cycle. This sparked my passion to find a better solution and discover where true health and healing come from.

I continued my education at Life University, completing my Bachelor of Science and earning my Doctorate of Chiropractic. While in training, I learned to shift focus to the body’s unique ability to heal itself by working with the spine and the nervous system. After graduation, I became an Associate Chiropractor at Powell Chiropractic Center in Tifton, GA where I had the amazing opportunity to work alongside an experienced team specializing in family and corrective Chiropractic care. In 2020, along with my wife Kristen, we returned to Atlanta to join Thryve Wellness Group with one goal in mind – to bring specific, individualized, patient-centered Chiropractic care to Marietta. I am thrilled to share Chiropractic care with the Marietta community and I am excited to welcome you to Thryve Wellness Group where we can, together, achieve your “Y.”

Dr. Josias Barnes-Jones

I grew up in St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands and I have spent a significant amount of time living throughout the southeastern United States. As both an athlete and nephew of a chiropractor, I was able to see the benefit of chiropractic in my performance and overall wellness. Looking back, it was almost inevitable that my journey would lead me to Life University where I was able to enhance my passion for chiropractic, health, and wellness.

I graduated from Life magna cum laude and then spent three years in the Finger Lakes region of New York at the Northeast College of Health Science. In 2020, I became the first African-American male to earn diplomate status with the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology (DACBR). In addition to my practice duties, I am an Assistant Professor at Life University where I serve as the clinical radiologist for the clinic system. I also provide primary and secondary diagnostic image interpretation services all over the United States.

Throughout my professional journey, I have witnessed the transformative impact chiropractic can provide. The opportunity to provide chiropractic care coupled with the chance to return home to metro Atlanta and serve the community has been a dream come true. I am ecstatic to be a part of the dynamic team at Thryve and look forward to connecting with you and your family on your health and wellness journey.

I am a proud Virginia native who’s worn many hats in life. But the one that’s most defining for me is that of a US Army Ranger with the 1/75 RGT. It’s where I learned the value of discipline, mental toughness, and leadership. My military experience has influenced every aspect of my life, including my career and personal pursuits.

After serving in the Army, I decided to take my love for technology and pursue a career in IT. I specialized in holistic health and wellness, driven by my passion for natural remedies and alternative medicine. I’ve always believed that the body has incredible healing powers, and I’ve made it my mission to spread the word about healthy living.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked hard to hone my skills and become an expert in my field. But it’s not just about what I’ve accomplished; it’s also about the people I’ve been able to help along the way. From consulting with individuals to speaking at conferences, I’m always excited to share my knowledge and experience.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me on the basketball court or the racetrack. Sports have been a big part of my life since I was a kid, and I believe that physical activity is essential to staying healthy and happy. I also love spending time with my family, exploring the great outdoors, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.

My personal motto is “never give up.” It’s a philosophy that’s served me well in both my professional and personal life. No matter what challenges come my way, I’m always ready to face them head-on and come out stronger on the other side.
